The Dell Rapids 16U team cruised to a 14-2 win over Hamlin in the I-29 League Tournament on Saturday, June 15th.
Dell Rapids put five runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Hamlin got a run in the bottom of the third inning, but Dell Rapids then scored in each of the next three innings. They got three in the top of the fourth, two in the fifth, and four in the sixth. Hamlin scored their other run in the bottom of the fifth.
Connor Hanson had four hits, including a double, and an RBI. Jack Paterson finished with two singles and two RBIs. Jackson Peppel also had two hits, including a single, and an RBI. Gage Bunkers and Jake Garaets both had a single and an RBI. Kenny Swanson and Luke Symens both had one hit each. Ryan Stubbe and Kaiden Zellmer each had an RBI.
Bunkers pitched four innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and three walks with six strikeouts. Peppel pitched two innings and allowed an earned run on a hit and two walks with three strikeouts.
