Tad Tjaden got stronger as the game progressed as he held Parkston to just one hit over seven innings in a 2-0 win for Dell Rapids on Tuesday, April 23rd. Tjaden set down the last 13 batters in a row and struck out a total of 11 batters, nine of those coming during the 13 straight outs. He also only allowed one walk and one hit batter.
Offensively Dell Rapids had to manufacture their two runs. Mason Stubbe drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the third. He stole second base, and then Treyse Eastman drove him home with an RBI single. Talan Millage was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the fourth inning. Micah Pickard replaced Millage as a pinch runner. Pickard stole second and third bases during the inning. Cole Ruesink brought home Pickard on an RBI bunt single to give Dell Rapids a 2-0 lead.
Eastman and Ruesink both had a single and an RBI. Jack Henry and Tjaden had the other two hits for Dell Rapids in the game.
