The Dell Rapids high school baseball team had their first home game of the 2024 season on Friday, April 5th. Dell Rapids hosted Baltic and took a 12-2 win.
Jack Henry put Dell Rapids on the board with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. Mason Stubbe had an RBI single, and Treyse Eastman drove home two more runs with a singe in the bottom of the second inning to extend the lead to 6-0. Baltic got a run in the top of the third and another in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 6-2. Dell Rapids then put six runs on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Baltic got a double in the top of the fifth, but they were unable to score. The game ended on the 10-run rule.
Wiliams had three hits in the game, including a double and triple, with an RBI. T. Eastman had two hits and two RBIs. Henry had a home run and three RBIs. Lincoln Fersdahl had a double and two RBIs. Stubbe and Tjaden both had a single and an RBI. Ruesink added an RBI. Henry pitched the first 2 1/3 innings alowing an earned run on a hit and four walks with four strikeouts. Konrad Richeal pitched the final 2 2/3 innings allowing a run, which was unearned, on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
