The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls and boys wrestling teams competed in the Les Tlustos Invitational in Brookings on Saturday, January 27th. The girls team finished fifth with a 67.0 points. The boys team finished 13th with a total of 65.5 points.
For the girls team, Rylee Bird won her division with two wins. Chloe Staskywicz finished third with a 2-1 record. Mikayla Hight took fourth with a 2-2 record. Oliva Reiter had a fifth-place finish with a 2-2 record. Bailey Credeur was sixth and finished with a 1-3 record. Kayleigh Gillette also placed sixth with an 0-3 record, and Jose Becker took seventh with an 0-2 record.
For the boys team, John Mortrude took second in the 144-pound weight class with a 3-1 record. Camden Tebay (113) finished fifth with a 4-2 record. Quinn Carr (175) also placed fifth with a 4-2 record. Charlie Becker (285) placed seventh with a 3-2 record. Charlie Person (120) and Aiden Geraets (215) both had one win on the day. Kane Murphy (150) and Brandon Schmidt (215) also took part in the tournament.
