The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls took a road loss in Canton on Thursday, January 4th. The C-Hawks used a big second half in their 68-28 victory.
The Quarriers trailed Canton 16-6 after the first quarter. Canton then extended their lead to 31-16 by halftime. The second half is where the C-Hawks really pulled away. The held Dell Rapids to just four points in the third quarter and led 51-20 going into the final quarter.
The Quarriers shot 28% (11-40) from the field overall, 1-8 from three-point area, and 42% (5-12) from the free-throw line. Canton shot 51% (29-57) overall, 31% (4-13) on three-point attempts, and 50% (6-12) from the free-throw line.
Clara Justice had eight points and eight rebounds. Rorie Thoreson finished with seven points and two steals. Elly Olson added four points and five assists. Mya DeStigter had four points and two rebounds. Jersi Schultz had three points and three rebounds.
