The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls basketball team took part in the 2023 Entringer Classic in Colman on Saturday, December 16th. The Quarriers lost to the Colman-Egan Hawks 48-31.
Dell Rapids had a 7-3 with 5:00 to play in the opening quarter. Colman-Egan finished the rest of the quarter on a 12-3 run for a 15-10 lead at the quarter break. The Hawks outscored Dell Rapids 14-7 in the second quarter to extend their lead to 29-17 at halftime. The Quarriers were outscored again in the third quarter and trailed 41-23 going into the fourth quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 19% (8-42) overall in the game, 23% (3-13) on three-point attempts, and 60% (12-20) from the free-throw line. Colman-Egan shot 39% (18-46) from the field overall, 30% (3-10) on three-point attempts, and 45% (9-20) from the free-throw line.
Elly Olson had 11 points and seven rebounds. Clara Justice added eight points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Rorie Thoreson had six points and three rebounds. Mya DeStigter had three points, three rebounds, and three blocked shots.
