The Dell Rapids Quarrier wrestling 2023-2024 season started with their annual “Top of the Rock” tournament on Saturday, December 2nd. The boys team finished fifth with 92.0 points. The girls team placed third with 15.0 points.
John Mortrude won the 144-pound class with a 3-0 record. Mason Stubbe took the top spot in the 190-pound class with two pins.
Camden Tebay (113) finished third with a 3-1 record. Charlie Person (120) was also third with a 3-1 record. Quinn Carr (215) finished third with a 3-1 record. Aiden Geraets (215) placed fourth with a 2-2 record.
Breck Evans (157) and Charlie Becker (285) both had one win. Zach Grochow (120) and Kane Murphy (150) also took part in the tournament.
For the girls team, Hannah Jensen took first place with two wins. Josie Becker also placed first with two pins. Kayleigh Gillette finished second. Chloe Staskywicz and Rylee Halverson had third place finishes. Mikayla Hight was fourth in her division with one win.
