Nicole Pankonen will take over the Dell Rapids Quarrier girls basketball coach this season. Last year’s team finished with an overall record of 3-18 and graduated two seniors.
“I am excited for the upcoming basketball season. Stepping into the head coaching position can be a challenge, but I feel like the girls have adapted well to my style of coaching. We have been having a great pre-season, and the girls are working hard,” Pankonen said.
This year’s team will be led by seniors Shelby Welbig and Reagan VanZee as well as juniors Elly Olson and Clara Justice.
“We have some younger girls who will contribute as well. I expect if you are a fan and come out to a game, you wills ee a fully energized team who is willing to leave it all on the court every game,” added Pankonen.
The Quarriers start the 2023-2024 season on the road in Madison on Thursday, December 7th.
