Quarriers Finish Back-to-Back Undefeated Regular Seasons

The Dell Rapids Quarriers finished the regular season undefeated after getting a 53-18 win over the Dakota Valley Panthers at home on Thursday, October 19th.

Cole Ruesink started the game with fireworks taking the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown.  Mason Stubbe made the two-point conversion for an early 8-0 lead.  The Panthers scored on a six-yard run with 2:52 remaining in the quarter to make the score 8-6.  That was as close as they would be the rest of the game.  Stubbe had a 72-yard touchdown run twenty seconds later, and another made two-point conversion put Dell Rapids ahead 16-6.

Stubbe broke free for an 81-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to extend the lead to 22-6.  Ruesink added a 59-yard rushing score with 9:24 left in the first half.  The Quarriers added a two-point conversion for a 30-6 lead.  Stubbe scored again with 3:37 in the second on a three-yard run and then scored the two-point conversion to make the score 38-6.  Dakota Valley got a score before halftime on a 34-yard touchdown pass.  Dell Rapids led 38-12 at hafltime.

Sutton Williams added a 34-yard touchdown run with 2:59 to play in the third quarter to extend the lead to 46-12 after a two-point conversion.  Stubbe scored his fourth touchdown with 9:38 to play in the game on a 37-yard touchdown run.  Cooper Frost made the extra point for a 53-12 score.  The Panthers scored on a three-yard run with 4:42 to play.

Dell Rapids finished with 442 yards of total offense, while Dakota Valley had 179 yards of offense.  Stubbe had 12 carries for 272 yards and four touchdowns.  Ruesink had five carries for 74 yards and a touchdown along with three catches for 24 yards and a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  Williams had four carries for 40 yards and a touchdown.  Jack Henry was 5-10 passing for 46 yards.

Williams finished with six tackles in the game.  Henry and Stubbe both had five tackles each.  Aiden Geraets and John Mortrude had four tackles apiece.  Ryan Stubbe had three tackles.  Treyse Eastman and Drake Eastman both had two tackles.

Dell Rapids will host Madison in the quarterfinals of the 11A playoffs on Thursday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m.
