The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team won their fifth straight match on Thursday, September 21st. The Quarriers traveled to Flandreau and defeated the Fliers in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-18.
Dell Rapids got out to quick leads in all three sets. In the opening set, they built an early 5-2 lead. The Quarriers extended that lead to 16-7. Flandreau then got three points in a row to cut the lead to 16-10, but the Quarriers finished the set with a 25-15 win. In the second set, Dell Rapids built a 6-2 lead and then went on a 9-3 run for a 15-5 advantage. They continued to lead by 10, 20-10, before winning 25-12. Dell Rapids opened the third set with a 7-2 run. The Quarriers pushed the lead to 12-4. Flandreau got within two points a couple of times at 14-12 and 17-15, but Dell Rapids ended the match on an 8-3 run.
Sophi Randall had 25 set assists, seven digs, four kills and three ace serves. Kylee Fiddelke added six kills and six digs. Madelynn Henry finished with 17 kills and eight digs. Lauryn Kloth had five kills, three ace serves, and three blocks. Elin Schoenhard had four kills, while Clara Justice had three kills. Alaina Wolff added nine digs, and Karlie Ingalls finished with six digs. Cate Traill had two ace serves.
