Every match the Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team has won so far this season has been a straight set sweep. That trend continued on Thursday, September 14th when the Quarriers defeated the Tri-Valley Mustangs in straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-10, and 25-8.
The start of the match was back and forth with the two teams battling to tie scores of 4-4 and 8-8. Dell Rapids went on a 5-1 run fro a 13-9 lead. The lead slowly grew to 19-12. Tri-Valley got the lead down to five, 23-18, but the Quarriers took the first set 25-19.
Dell Rapids got out to a 5-1 lead to start the second set. Tri-Valley responded with a 7-1 run to go ahead 8-6. The Quarriers completely took control of the match with a 12-0 run to go ahead 18-8. They finished the second set 25-10. Dell Rapids continued that momentum into the third set. They started with a 7-2 lead, extended it 14-3, and cruised to a 25-8 victory.
Sophi Randall finished with 27 set assists and nine digs. Madelynn Henry had 13 kills and three ace serves. Lauryn Kloth had 11 kills. Elin Schoenhard finished with five kills and two aces. Kylee Fiddelke added five ace serves, and Alaina Wolff had nine digs.
