Quarrier Football Dominates in Home Win

The Dell Rapids Quarrier football team won their second straight home game to start the season on Friday, September 1st.  The Quarriers dominated the Belle Fourche Broncs early on their way to a 39-13 victory.

Dell Rapids was on the board within the first minute of the game.  Mason Stubbe had a 43-yard touchdown run.  A made two-point conversion put Dell Rapids ahead 8-0 with 11:04 to play in the quarter.  Just :49 late Dell Rapids scored again.  Cole Ruesink had a 13-yard touchdown run.  Another made two-point conversion made the score 16-0 with 10:45 left in the quarter.

Sutton Williams found the endzone with 6:21 left in the first quarter from seven yards away.  And with 1:54 to go in the quarter, Ruesink scored on a 14-yard touchdown run.  Both two-point conversions were good, and Dell Rapids led 32-0 after the first quarter.  The Quarriers added another score with 11:10 to go in the second quarter.  Cooper Frost threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Jones.  A made extra point put the score at 39-0.  That’s where the score remained at halftime.

Belle Fourche scored two touchdowns in the second half.  They had a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter, and then a 47-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Dell Rapids finished with 278 yards of total offense, 179 rushing yards and 99 passing yards.  Belle Fourche had 151 yards of total offense, 69 rushing yards and 92 passing yards.

Stubbe had four carries for 73 yards and a touchdown.  Ruesink had three carries for 35 yards and two touchdowns.  Williams had one run for seven yards and a touchdown.  Quinn Carr added three carries for 22 yards.  Jack Henry was 3-3 passing for 49 yards.  Frost was 1-1 for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Drake Eastman finished 1-3 for 28 yards.  Ruesink had two catches for 38 yards.  Grady Lamer had a catch for 28 yards.  Jones had a catch for 22 yards and a touchdown, and Tad Tjaden had a catch for 11 yards.

Ryan Stubbe had six tackles with a sack.  Lamer finished with four tackles.  Aiden Geraets had three tackles and a fumble recovery.  M. Stubbe had two tackles.
