The 2022 Quarrier cross country season was an exciting one according to head coach Eric Koithan. Dell Rapids was able to put together full varsity teams for both the boys and girls, which did not happen in 2021.
Senior Reagan Van Zee returns for Dell Rapids, and Koithan says that she has been putting in the time to show her dedication as an upperclassman. Rorie Thoreson, and eighth-grader, is lone returning state qualifier from a year ago. Isaac Tudor will bring experience back to this year’s boys team.
“Overall I am really excited to see that this program is growing and adding lots of youth. We’re an extremely young team, with well over 50% of the team being freshman or younger. To me, if some of the upperclassman like Van Zee and Tudor can inspire these young athletes, there’s no telling where this program could end up,” said Koithan.
The 2023 season begins in Beresford on Friday, August 25th.
