Quarrier Football Replacing Key Positions in 2022

The Dell Rapids Quarrier football team will be replacing some key positions in 2022.  Dell Rapids will have new faces at quarterback, running back, full back, offensive tackle, offensive guard, defensive end, defensive back, linebacker, and kicker this season.

The Quarriers finished 7-4 last season and went 1-1 in the playoffs.  Dell Rapids defeated West Central in the quarterfinal round, but fell to Madison in the semifinals to end the season.

“Offensively we have a few key guys back, but also have a few holes to fill from graduation.  Guys are working hard to step in and fill those holes.  Like any year we need guys working hard in the offseason to be able to play well once the season starts to be successful.  Defensively we have a lot of experience back from a year ago,” said head coach Jordan Huska.

Returning starters from last year are Ryler Evans, Camden Justice, Brayden Pankonen, Braden Fersdahl, Ethan Kringen, Chase Jones, Will Jaton, Kale Evans, Mason Stubbe, Aiden Geraets, and Jack Henry.  Dell Rapids will also be seeing significant action from seniors Sam Cavigielli, Austin Harvey, Owen Nelson, Luke Randall, Ethan Ten Eyck, Austin Cox, Evan Nelson, and Carter Traill.

“The work ethic this group has shown in the offseason has been good to see.  They want to be a good football team.  They are working hard to be a good football team, not just expecting it to happen,” added Huska.

Dell Rapids will be on the road at Madison to start the season on Friday, August 26th.
