The Beresford Watchdog girls put together a strong second half and got back into the win column over the Bon Homme Cavaliers at the Irene-Wakonda Classic on Saturday, January 26th. After a 22-22 tie, the Watchdogs finished the game with a 56-39 win.
Beresford took a nine-point lead, 16-7, after the first quarter. The Watchdogs were held to just six points in the second quarter, and the Cavaliers cut the lead to 22-18 by halftime. Bon Homme scored the first four points of the third quarter to tie the game 22-22. Beresford then finished the quarter on a 17-7 run for a 39-29 lead going into the fourth quarter. The offense kept rolling scoring 17 more points in the win.
Harley Koth had 19 points and four rebounds. Ella Merriman had 12 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Lily Seivert added 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Emily Latendresse had five points
