Season Ends for Watchdog Girls in Regions Against Dakota Valley

The Beresford Watchdog girls entered the Region 4A tournament as the #7 seed and had an opening-round road game at #2 Dakota Valley on Tuesday, February 25th.  After a close first quarter, the Panthers pulled away for a 92-68 win.

Beresford held a 10-9 lead with 4:00 to go in the opening quarter.  Dakota Valley went on an 8-0 run to go in front 17-10.  The Watchdogs battled back and cut the Panther lead to 21-18 by the end of the quarter.  Dakota Valley had a big second quarter scoring 33 points.  They extended their lead to 54-31 by halftime.

The Watchdogs kept pace with the Panthers in the third quarter, but were only able to cut the lead down by two points.  Dakota Valley led 74-55 going into the fourth quarter.  The Panthers outscored Beresford 18-13 in the final quarter.

Harley Koth finished with 22 points, six rebounds, and five steals.  Ella Merriman ended with 19 points and four steals.  Lily Seivert added 11 points and five rebounds.  Kendra Ellis had seven points, six rebounds, and three assists.
