Huskies Have Big Second Half in Win over Watchdog Girls

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies used a big second half to defeat the Beresford Watchdogs 70-47 on Friday, February 14th.

The two teams ended the first quarter tied 11-11.  The two teams played close throughout the second quarter as well.  The Huskies held a just one-point, 28-27, at halftime.  Elk Point-Jefferson’s offense then got rolling in the second half.  They outscored Beresford 22-11 in the third quarter for a 50-38 lead going into the fourth quarter . The Huskies outscored the Watchdogs 20-9 in the final quarter.

Beresford shot 43% (18-42) overall in the game, 29% (5-17) on three-point attempts, and 50% (6-12) from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson shot 48% (26-54) overall, 21% (5-24) on three-point attempts, and 81% (13-16) from the free-throw line.

Ella Merriman had 19 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Lily Seivert added 12 points and four rebounds.  Harley Koth finished with 11 points and eight rebouds.
