The Beresford Watchdog girls nearly erased an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but their rally fell short against the Canton C-Hawks 65-62 on Friday, January 24th.
The Watchdogs had the lead in the first quarter. They led 14-9 after the first quarter of play. Canton took the lead 23-21 with 2:00 to play in the second quarter and led 27-26 at halftime. The C-Hawks scored the first four points of the third quarter for a 31-26 lead with 6:30 remaining. They pushed the lead to 48-37 going into the final quarter. Beresford put together a furious rally in the fourth quarter, but they just ran out of time to complete the comeback.
Ella Merriman finished with 36 points and four steals. Harley Koth had 16 points and four rebounds. Lily Seivert had four points and four rebounds. Kendra Ellis ended with three points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
