Beresford Girls Make it Two in a Row

The Beresford Watchdog girls won their second straight game on Monday, January 6th.  The Watchdogs took a 48-34 win over the Akron-Westfield Westerners.

Beresford got out to a nice lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Watchdogs led 16-7 going into the second quarter.  They were able to extend their lead to double digits, 25-15, by halftime.  Beresford was able to maintain their double-digit lead in the third quarter.  They led 38-28 going into the fourth quarter.  The Watchdogs outscored thee Westerners 10-6 in the final quarter.

The Watchdogs shot 37.5% (18-48) overall in the game, 16.7% (4-24) on three-point shots, and 72.7% (8-11) from the free-throw line.  The Westerners shot 27.5% (11-40) from the field overall, 29.4% (5-17) from three-point area, and 77.8% (7-9) from the free-throw line.

Ella Merriman had 22 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Harley Koth had nine points and six rebounds.  Lily Seivert also had nine points with four rebounds.  Kelly Merrigan ended with four points, and Kennedy Merrigan had three points.
