The Beresford Watchdog boys hosted the Wagner Red Raiders on Monday, February 19th for their final regular season game of the year. The Watchdogs built a double-digit lead and then held in the fourth quarter for a 54-50 win.
The Watchdogs held a two-point lead, 19-17, by the end of the first quarter. Beresford’s defense held Wagner to just six points in the second quarter which helped the Watchdogs to a 30-23 halftime lead. They were able to get a game-high lead, 43-31, with 1:25 remaining in the third quarter. Beresford led 43-33 going into the fourth quarter. Wagner made a run in the fourth quarter, but Beresford was able to hold off the Red Raiders for the win.
Andrew Atwood finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Seth James added 11 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Aidan Hamm also had 11 points. Malachi James had 10 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Jon DeLay ended with nine points and three rebounds.
