First Half Lead Enough for Huskies in Win over Beresford Boys

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies built a big enough lead in the first half to help them to a 56-46 win over the Beresford Watchdogs on Friday, February 14th.

The Huskies led from start to finish in the game.  Elk Point-Jefferson held a 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.  They extended the lead to 28-17 by halftime.  The two teams combined for 35 points in the third quarter alone.  The Huskies took a 46-34 lead into the fourth quarter.  Beresford was only able to outscore the Huskies 12-10 in the final quarter.

The Watchdogs shot 32% (19-59) overall in the game, 13% (2-15) on three-point attempts, and 54% (6-11) from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson shot 45% (23-51) overall, 18% (2-11) on three-point shots, and 73% (8-11) from the free-throw line.

Malachi James had 15 points and eight rebounds.  Aidan Hamm finished with 14 points and five rebounds.  Tiegen Nyhaug added eight points and five rebounds.  Cooper Nelson ended with five points and 11 rebounds.
