Beresford Boys Win Tough Road Battle

The Beresford Watchdog boys won a tough road game in Wagner on Monday, February 24th.  The Watchdogs held off the Wagner Red Raiders 56-51.

Beresford took a 13-8 lead by the end of the first quarter.  Wagner tied the game 14-14 after an early second quarter run, but the Watchdogs finished the first half leading 26-21.  Beresford maintained their lead throughout the third quarter and held a 42-36 advantage going into the fourth quarter.  The Watchdogs scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to go ahead 46-36.  Wagner got within two points a couple of times, 46-44 and 52-50, but the Watchdogs sealed the win from the free-throw line.

Tiegen Nyhaug had 17 points and four rebounds.  Malachi James had 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Ashton Oberle finished with nine points.  Aidan Hamm added eight points and five rebounds.  Cooper Nelson had 12 rebounds, and Joseph Sharpe finished with eight rebounds.
