Big Fourth Quarter Secures Win for Canton over Beresford Boys

The Beresford Watchdog boys were within striking distance to start the fourth quarter, but the Canton C-Hawks pulled away for a 75-52 win on Friday, January 19th.

Canton outscored the Wathdogs 17-11 in the opening quarter.  Both teams scored 16 points each in the second quarter, and Canton led 33-27 at halftime.  The C-Hawks extended their lead in the third quarter and had a 50-39 advantage going into the fourth quarter.  Canton then outscored Beresford 25-13 in the final quarter.

The Watchdogs shot 37% (22-59) from the field overall, 12% (2-17) on three-point attempts, and 86% (6-7) from the free-throw line.  Canton shot 46% (29-63) from the field overall, 50% (12-24) on three-point shots, and 71% (5-7) from the free-throw line.

Andrew Atwood had 20 points and eight rebounds.  Malachi James added 11 points and three rebounds.  Aidan James had seven points and three assists.  Jon DeLay finished with six points.
