Watchdog Boys Avenge Loss to Fighting Cougars

The Beresford Watchdog boys basketball team avenged an earlier loss to the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Tuesday, January 16th.  The Fighting Cougars defeated the Watchdogs by two points in the Big East Conference Tournament on January 5th, but this time the Watchdog earned a 59-35 victory.

The Watchdogs got off to a fast start and led 21-9 at the end of the first quarter.  The lead grew to 33-16 by halftime.  The Beresford offense continued to roll in the third quarter, outscoring McCook Central/Montrose 16-9 for a 49-25 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Two players had double-doubles in the game for the Watchdogs.  Andrew Atwood had 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Seth James finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds.  Aidan Hamm added eight points.  Jon DeLay and Malachi James both had seven points each.
