The Beresford Watchdog girls basketball team won their third straight game on Friday, January 5th. The Watchdogs hosted the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars and earned a 63-54 win.
Beresford built a big lead with a great first quarter. The Watchdogs outscored McCook Central/Montrose 19-4 in the opening quarter. Beresford continued to lead 34-18 at halftime. The Fighting Cougars cut into the lead in the third quarter and trailed just 46-38 going into the fourth quarter. The Watchdogs were able to outscore the Fighting Cougars 17-16 to hold for the win.
Ella Merriman had 25 points, seven steals, and three rebounds. Harley Koth had 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Lily Seivert had nine points, five rebounds, and thee steals. Cassie Twedt added eight points and three rebounds. Kendra Ellis had six points and six rebounds.
