Dakota Valley’s First Half Enough for Win over Beresford Boys

The Beresford Watchdog boys basketball team had their second straight home game to start the season on Tuesday, December 12th.  The Watchdogs were defeated by the Dakota Valley Panthers 87-63.

The Panthers built an early 21-8 by the end of the first quarter and cruised from there.  The lead grew to 20 points by halftime, 46-26.  The first half proved to be the big difference in the game.  Beresford hung with Dakota Valley in the second half.  The Panthers only outscored Beresford by four points, 41-37, in the second half.

Jon DeLay had 20 points and four rebounds.  Andrew Atwood finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.  Tiegen Nyhaug added 10 points.  Malachi James had nine points, five steals, two assists, and two rebounds.  Cooper Nelson had eight points and two rebounds.
