Baltic Softball Scores Win over Chamberlain

The Baltic Bulldog softball team scored in every inning and defeated the Chamberlain Cubs 17-6 in five innings at home on Monday, May 11th.

Chamberlain scored three runs in the top of the first inning for an early lead.  Baltic responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-3 lead.  The Bulldogs added three more runs in the bottom of the second for a 7-3 lead.  The Cubs picked up another run in the top of the third, but the offense kept rolling for Baltic.  The Bulldogs had another four-run inning in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 11-4.

Chamberlain scored their final two runs in the top of the fourth.  Baltic had their third four-run inning in the bottom of the fourth to push the lead to 15-6.  The Bulldogs had two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Ellie PIckett had three hits, one a double, and four RBIs.  Anna Hoekman also had three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs.  Kya Rollinger ended with a home run and single with five RBIs.  Kaylee Siemonsma and Madyson Determan both had a single and an RBI each.  Ashlyn Klein, Amelia Sinding, and Jordyn Wehde all had one hit each.  Klein pitched five innings and allowed six runs, three earned, on two hits and nine walks with seven strikeouts.
