Bulldog Softball Cruises to Road Win over Kingsbury County

The Baltic Bulldog softball team cruised to a 14-3 win over Kingsbury County in De Smet on Friday, May 15th.

The Bulldogs struck first in the top of the first inning.  Anna Hoekman had an RBI single and later scored on a dropped third strike for a 2-0 lead.  Amelia Sinding had an RBI sacrifice bunt in the top of the third inning, and then Hoekman scored on a wild pitch to put Baltic ahead 4-0.  Kingsbury County got one run in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-1.  Two runs scored on a single by Kaylee Siemonsma in the top of the fourth, and Ashlyn Klein had an RBI ground out to extend the Bulldog lead to 7-1.

Two runs scored for the Knights on a single in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 7-3.  Baltic got those two runs back in the top of the sixth when Jordyn Wehde scored on a passed ball and Hoekman added an RBI groundout.  The Bulldogs added five runs in the top of the seventh.  Ellie Picked had an RBI double.  Brielle Nelson and Wehde both scored on a passed ball.  Kya Rollinger added a solo home run to center field.

Hoekman had two doubles and two RBIs.  Rollinger had two hits, one a home run, and an RBI.  Siemonsma had two singles with an RBI.  Pickett ended with a double and two RBIs.  Sinding had a single and an RBI.  Madyson Determan, Analiyah Hansen, and Wehde all had one hit each.  Klein finished with two doubles.

Klein pitched seven innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on six hits and six walks with 10 strikeouts.
