Bulldog Softball Falls to Falcons at Home

On a cool, blustery day in Baltic, the Bulldogs fell to the Florence/Henry Falcons 11-5 on Friday, April 17th.

The Falcons struck first with two runs in the top of the first.  Kaylee Siemonsma scored on a ground ball by Ashlyn Klein in the bottom of the second.  Jaz Vrchota scored on a passed ball later in the inning to tie the game 2-2.  The big blow for the Falcons came in the top of the third when they scored six times to go in front 8-2.  Ellie Pickett had an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth.  Pickett would add an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, and Jordyn Wehde also had an RBI single to cut the lead to 8-5.  Florence/Henry added three runs in the top of the seventh to pull away 11-5.

Pickett had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Wehde finished with a single and an RBI.  Madyson Determan added a triple.  Klein ended with a double.  Castyn Rogers and Siemonsma each had a single.  Charlee Blommer pitched two innings and allowed eight runs, seven earned, on five hits and four walks with a strikeout.  Klein threw five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
