Baltic Softball Walks off Mt Vernon/Plankinton for Win

The Baltic Bulldog softball team earned a walk-off win after Kya Rollinger was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh.  The Bulldogs defeated the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titians 10-9 for their second win of the season.

The Titans scored three times right away in the top of the third.  Rollinger had an RBI single in the bottom of the first.  Kaylee Siemonsma and Analiyah Hansen both scored on an error later in the inning to tie the score 3-3.  After a scoreless second inning, Mt Vernon/Plankinton had a four-run top of the third.  They added another run in the top of the fourth for an 8-3 lead.

Anna Hoekman drove home two with a double in the bottom of the fourth.  She later scored to make the score 8-6.  Jordyn Wehde and Ellie Pickett both scored on an error in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 8-8.  The Titans retook the lead, 9-8, with a two-out single.  Siemonsma would score on a wild pitch with two out in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score, 9-9.  The Titans would load the bases in the top of the seventh but were unable to score.  After Wehde started the bottom of the seventh with a single, she would eventually make her way to third after two steals.  The Titans loaded the bases with two intentional walks.  Rollinger was hit by a pitch on a full count to win the game.

Rollinger finished with two hits and two RBIs.  Hoekman added a double and two RBIs.  Amelia Sinding and Wehde each had a single. Ashlyn Klein had one RBI.  Charlee Blommer pitched two innings and allowed seven run, four earned, on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Klein tossed five innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and six walks with nine strikeouts.
