The Baltic Bulldog softball team earned their third win of the season after a 16-3 victory over the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans on Thursday, April 10th.
Baltic scored two runs right away in the top of the first. The Titans answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Neither team scored in the second, and Baltic continued to lead 2-1. They would add to the lead with a three-run top of the third inning. Mt Vernon/Plankinton picked up another run in the bottom of the third making the score 5-2. The Bulldog offense then went on a roll. They scored seven times in the top of the fourth and added four more in the fifth for a 16-2 lead. The Titans got one more run in the bottom of the fifth, and the game then ended on the 10-run rule.
Annah Hoekman had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Amaris Handsaker finished with two singles. Kaylee Siemonsma had a triple with an RBI. Ashlyn Klein also had a hit with an RBI. Harper Kortemeyer and Madyson Determan each had a single. Ryah Peters ended with an RBI. Charlee Blommer pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits and four walks with 13 strikeouts.
