The Baltic 14Us won their opening round game of the Region 3B tournament in Garretson on Monday, July 10th. Baltic played the hosts and advanced to the semifinals with an 8-6 win.
Baltic took the lead right away in the bottom of the first with two runs. Garretson tied the game with two runs in the top of the third. Baltic took the lead for good with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Garretson, however, did make a run. They scored a run in the top of the fifth and two in the sixth to cut the lead to 7-5. Baltic got one run back in the bottom of the sixth. The final run for Garretson was scored in the top of the seventh.
Elias Oakley finished with two hits. Ben Berg and Cale Roach both had a single and two RBIs. Gavin Skotvold had a double and an RBI. Jackson Goehring and AJ Grunewaldt both had a single and an RBI. Brody Hansen added a hit. Oakley pitched six innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits and two walks with nine strikeouts. Grunewaldt pitched one inning and struck out one.
