The Baltic 14U baseball team played two games on back-to-back nights. They traveled to Humboldt to play West Central Blue on Monday, June 26th. They then traveled to Flandreau on Tuesday, June 27th.
West Central Blue 10, Baltic 0
Baltic was held to just two hits as West Central built a 10-0 lead and ended the game on the 10-run rule. After a score less inning, West Central scored a run in the bottom of the second, five in the third, two in the fourth, and two runs in the fifth.
Elias Oakley had a double, and Aiden Peters finished with a single. Oakley pitched two innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Luke Peterson pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks with a strikeout. Brody Hansen threw one inning and allowed two earned runs on a hit and three walks with a strikeout.
Baltic 21, Flandreau 5
Baltic came back strong in their game against Flandreau scoring in every inning and belting out 12 hits. They scored five runs in the top of the first for an early 5-0 lead. Flandreau got one run in the bottom of the first. Baltic then scored two runs in the top of the second and six more in the third for a 13-1 lead. Flandreau got one more run in the second. Batlic put eight runs on the board in the top of the fourth.
Ben Berg had three hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Hansen finished with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Colton Bucholz had two singles and an RBI. Peters had a single and three RBIs. Gavin Skotvold added a double and two RBIs. AJ Grunewaldt had a hit and two RBIs. Braeden Breece finished with a single and an RBI. Cale Roach had a single, and Aaron Norby had an RBI.
Grunewaldt pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Skotvold pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed one walk while striking out one.
