The Alcester-Hudson Cub girls led by six points with under three minutes to play, but the Bon Homme Cavaliers force overtime and then won in overtime, 48-46, on Thursday, January 2nd.
Bon Homme started the game with a big 10-0 run over the first four minutes of the game. Alcester-Hudson cut the lead in half by the end of the first quarter, 14-9. The Cubs were able shave three more points off the lead by halftime. The Cavaliers led 19-17 at the break. Alcester-Hudson was took the lead in the third quarter to pick up some momentum. They led 28-27 going into the fourth quarter. They continued to build on their lead and led 38-32 with 2:40 to go in the game. The Cavaliers outscored the Cubs 7-1 during those final minutes to tie the game 39-39 and force overtime. In the overtime period, Bon Homme outscored the Cubs 9-7 to take the win.
Emily Winquist had 15 points, five rebounds, and six steals in the game. Jenna Manning had 12 points and four rebounds. Devin Hongslo added six points. Delta Pies had four points and three rebounds.
