The Alcester-Hudson Cub girls had their 2024-2025 season come to an end at home in the opening round of the Region 4B tournament on Monday, February 24th. The Irene-Wakonda Eagles advanced with a 54-45 victory.
The Eagles held the lead at the end of the first quarter, 15-12. The Cubs and Eagles battled back and forth in the second quarter, and the first half ended in a 28-28 tie. The third quarter was back and forth as well. Alcester-Hudson held a slim 42-41 lead going into the final quarter. The Cubs scored the first two points of the fourth quarter and lead 44-41 with 7:20 to play. They were then held to just one point the remainder of the game as Irene-Wakonda took the win.
Emma Solberg finished with 20 points and six rebounds. Emily Winquist ended with 13 points, six assists, and three steals. Jenna Manning added five points. Delta Pies had four points, four rebounds, and four steals.
