Cub Girls Win First Game of Season

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs girls team won their first game of the season at home against the Parker Pheasants on Saturday, December 21st.  After trailing at the end of the first quarter, the Cubs used a big second quarter to help them to a 34-25 win.

The Pheasants held a one-point lead, 8-7, after the first quarter of play.  Alcester-Hudson scored 20 points in the second quarter and took a 27-13 lead into halftime.  Neither offense was able to get much going in the third quarter.  The two teams combined for just five total points, and the Cubs led 28-17 going into the final quarter.  The Cubs were able to maintain their lead throughout the fourth quarter for the win.

Emily Winquist finished with 14 points and six rebounds.  Emma Solberg added six points and four rebounds.  Delta Pies also had six points with five rebounds.  Jenna Manning ended with five points and three rebounds.
