Cubs Boys Basketball Excited for 2024-2025 Season

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys basketball team finished 9-12 last season and lost three starters to graduation, but head coach Grant Johnson is still excited to see what this year’s team can do.

The Cubs returns seniors Ethan Bovill and Jose Topete-Lopez who both average over 10 points per game last season and will be in the starting lineup for the third straight year.  Senior Evan Brown and junior Tommy Walth return to the team this season.  Junior Jacob Cole and sophomore Ethan Haak also return after playing big roles last season.  There will also be a big number of other juniors and sophomores that will compete for court time this year.

“We lost a good group of players and three starters from last season to graduation.  However, I am very excited to see what this group can do.  There should be a strong competition in the gym for playing time which will hopefully lead to success,” said Johnson.

Johnson also mentioned that last season they had quite a few games that were close that they lost.  He said that if they can find a way to win a few more of those types of games, this year will be successful.

Alcester-Hudson starts the 2024-2025 season at home against Gayville-Volin on Thursday, December 12th.
