The Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys basketball team hosted the Gayville-Volin Raiders in their first game of the year on Thursday, December 12th. The Raiders led at the end of every quarter and took the win, 57-49.
The first quarter ended with the Raiders leading by just a point, 12-11. Gayville-Volin extended the lead in the second quarter for a 25-20 lead by halftime. Alcester-Hudson was able to tie the game 30-30 with 2:00 left to go in the third quarter. The Raiders would then end the quarter on a 10-3 run for a 40-33 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Cubs were unable to to make another comeback as the Raiders held for the 57-49 win.
Ethan Bovill finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Evan Haak had seven points and four rebounds. Tommy Walth added six points and three rebounds. Jose Topete-Lopez had five points and five rebounds. Jacob Cole finished with five points and four rebounds.
