Alcester-Hudson Boys Win Final Home Game of Season

Playing in their final regular season home game, the Alcester-Hudson Cubs went on a roll late in the second half to beat the Freeman Academy/Marion Bearcats 69-53 on Tuesday, February 13th.

The first half was played to within five points.  The Cubs had a four-point lead, 16-12, at the end of the first quarter.  The lead stayed about that same place in the second quarter, and Alcester-Hudson led 29-26 at halftime.  Freeman Academy/Marion tied the game in the third quarter and the teams went back and fourth.  With the score tied 41-41 late in the third quarter, Evan Haak made three three-point shots to finish the quarter to give the Cubs a 50-41 lead.  Those big shots sparked momentum for the Cubs as they outscored the Bearcats 19-12 in the final quarter.

Jose Topete-Lopez had 13 points and five rebounds.  Ethan Bovill finished with 12 points and two rebounds.  Mateo Kleinhans added 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Haak also had 11 points with two rebounds.  Dominic Van Egdom had nine points, 17 rebounds, and six assists.
