Cub Girls Win Second Straight Game

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs girls basketball team won their second straight game with a 34-21 win over the West Sioux Falcons on Saturday, December 16th.  The Cubs were able to shake off a slow start in the opening quarter.

The two teams combined for just seven total points in the first quarter.  The Falcons had a 5-2 lead at the quarter break.  The Cubs outscored the Falcons 15-6 in the second quarter for a 17-11 lead at halftime.  The Alcester-Hudson defense held the Falcons to just two points in the second quarter to help the Cubs build a 26-13 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Elly Doering had 11 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Alexis Gray added nine points and five rebounds.  Emma Solberg finished with eight points and two steals.  Emily Winquist had two points and five steals, while Jenna Manning also had two points and four steals.
