Alcester-Hudson Boys Win Big in First Home Game

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys basketball team earned a big victory in their first home game of the season on Friday, December 8th.   The Cubs hosted the Menno Wolves and won the game 64-39.

The offense scorched the nets in the first quarter scoring 26 points to take a 26-12 lead at the first quarter break.  Menno kept pace in the second quarter, but the Cubs led 40-25 at halftime.  Alcester-Hudson’s defense held the Wolves to just six points in the third quarter, and the Cubs led 60-31 after three quarters of play.

The Cubs shot 46% (26-57) from the field overall, 31% (4-13) on three-point attempts, and 47% (8-17) from the free-throw line.  Menno finished the game shooting 30% (14-47) overall, 2-10 from three-point area, and 75% (9-12) from the free-throw line.

Jose Topete-Lopez finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Ethan Bovill added 18 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Mateo Kleinhans had eight points.  Dominic Van Egdom had seven points and 11 rebounds.  William Hallaway finished with six points, three assists, two rebounds, and two steals.
