Johnson Moves to Head Coach for Cubs Boys Basketball

Grant Johnson makes the move from JV coach to head coach for the Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys basketball program this year.  The Cubs finished 6-15 on the year last year, but with strong returning numbers, Alcester-Hudson looks to improve on that record.

“I am excited to take the helm this season.  We return a good number of players from last season, and I believe that we can improve on what we accomplished last season.  I expect to be near the top of our conference and our region this season.  One of the challenges we will face will be to mesh the younger players with our upperclassmen to find the best group on the floor,” said Johnson.

Four seniors will help lead the Cubs.  They are Dominic Van Egdom, William Hallaway, Mateo Klienhans, and Mike Kast.  Juniors Ethan Bovill and Jose Topete-Lopez also return to the program with significant experience.  Sophomore Jacob Cole and freshman Evan Haak will also see some varsity playing time.

Alcester-Hudson opens the season on the road at Gayville-Volin on Thursday, December 7th.
