Cubs Suffer Cold Streak in Middle of Game, Fall to Eagles

The Alcester-Hudson Cub offense hit a cold streak in the middle two quarters in their game against the Irene/Wakonda Eagles on Friday, January 20th.  Those two quarters proved to be the difference as the Eagles won the game 45-39.

The Cubs started out hot scoring 15 points in the first quarter.  They led 15-5 at the quarter break.  Then the offense went cold.  Alcester-Hudson was held to just two points in the second quarter, and Eagles cut the lead to 17-15 at halftime.  The cold streak continued into the third quarter for the Cubs.  They only scored five points in the third, and Irene/Wakonda had a 29-22 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Alcester-Hudson got the offense going in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles kept pace as the Cubs only outscored the Eagles 17-16 in the final quarter.

Jose Topete-Lopez had 16 points and four rebounds.  Evan Brown finished with seven points.  Ethan Bovill had five points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Dominic Van Egddom addded four points and 12 rebounds.
