The Akron-Westfield Westerners used a big second half in their 64-32 win over the Alcester-Hudson Cubs boys basketball team on Thursday, January 12th.
The Westerners grabbed a 15-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Cubs kept pace with Akron-Westfield in the second quarter, and the lead stayed at five points, 24-19, at halftime. The Westerners then got on a roll in the second half. They outscored the Cubs 16-2 in the third quarter and then 24-11 in the fourth quarter for the big win.
Jose Topete-Lopez had eight points and five rebounds. Ethan Bovill finished with seven points. Dominic Van Egdom added five points and 12 rebounds. Owen Bovill also had five points.
