Parker Snaps Short Cub Winning Streak

The Parker Pheasants snapped a short two-match winning streak by the Alcester-Hudson Cubs on Thursday, September 15th.  The Pheasants earned the road win in four sets by scores of 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, and 25-23.

The Cubs had the early advantage in the opening set at 9-5.  Alcester-Hudson continued to lead 19-15 late in the first set, but the Pheasants rallied to tie the score 20-20, 21-21, 22-22, and 23-23 before winning the last two points for the set win.  In the second set, the Cubs turned a 7-7 tie into a big lead.  They went on a 14-3 run for a big 21-10 lead.  The Cubs won the second set 25-17.

Alcester-Hudson again took the early lead in the third set, 9-4.  Parker went on a 9-4 run of their own to tie the score 13-13.  The Pheasants continued to ride the momentum and went ahead 22-17. The Cubs responded with a 6-0 run to retake the lead 23-22, but Parker finished the set on a 4-1 run to win 26-24.  Alcester-Hudson built another lead to start the fourth set, 10-4.  Parker responded yet again with a 10-2 run for a 14-12 lead.  The two teams went back-and-forth until Parker built a 23-19 lead.  The Cubs scored four in a row to tie the score 23-23, but the Pheasants rallied again late for the 25-23 win.

Alexis Gray finished with 10 kills and 12 digs.  Emma Moller had nine kills, 17 digs, and two ace serves.  Carly Patrick added nine kills and seven digs.  Elly Doering also had nine kills and seven digs along with two set assists.  Ella Serck finished with 28 set assists, 16 digs, and two kills.  Hannah Ahart had 13 digs, nine ace serves, and two set assists.
