Cubs Volleyball Reaches Semifinals of Bon Homme Tournament

The Alcester-Hudson Cub volleyball team reached the semifinal round of the Bon Homme Tournament before their day came to an end on Saturday, September 17th.  The Cubs finished second in their pool to qualify for the championship bracket, and then had their day end in the semifinals.

Alcester-Hudson finished 2-1 in pool play to start the day.  They defeated Andes Central/Dakota Christian in straight sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-16.  The Cubs also defeated Gayville-Volin in straight sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-18.  Wagner, who won the pool, beat Alcester-Hudson by scores of 25-14 and 25-14.

With the second place finish in pool play, the Cubs qualified for the championship bracket.  In the opening round, Alcester-Hudson defeated the Beresford Watchdogs in straight sets by scores of 27-25 and 25-22.  The win advanced the Cubs to the semifinals against Bon Homme.  Bon Homme ended the day for the Cubs with a straight-set win 25-19 and 25-16.

Carly Patrick finished the day with 30 kills, 15 digs, and 11 set assists.  Alexis Gray had 26 kills, 26 digs, and five blocks.  Elly Doering also had 26 kills along with 18 digs, three blocks, and three ace serves for the tournament.  Emma Moller added 20 kills and 34 digs.  Ella Serck finished with 84 set assists, 29 digs, four kills, two blocks, and two ace serves.  Hannah Ahart had 55 digs, 14 ace serves, six set assists, and four kills.  Jenna Manning finished with 25 digs and a kill.
