Alcester-Hudson Volleyball Ends Regular Season with Home Win

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs volleyball team ended their regular season with a home win over the Freeman Flyers on Tuesday, October 29th.  The Cubs won in four sets by scores of 25-8, 17-25, 25-19, and 25-16.

Alcester-Hudson started the match with a 7-1 run in the opening set.  They flew through the first set by having leads of 12-2 and 21-4 before winning 25-8.  After a 3-3 tie to start the second set, the Flyers took a 9-7 lead.  Freeman extended their lead to 14-9.  The Cubs got within two points, 18-16, but the Flyers scored three in a row to extend the lead to 21-16.  Freeman finished the second set with a 4-1 run for a 25-17 win.

The third set started with a 2-2 tie, but the Cubs went on a 5-2 spurt for a 7-4 lead.  They continued to lead by three points, 10-7, before going on an 8-3 run to push the lead to 18-10.  Alcester-Hudson led 23-14, but Freemen went on a 5-1 run to make the score 24-19.  The Cubs stopped the rally and won 25-19.  Freeman started the fourth set with a 5-2 run.  They stayed in front by three points, 8-5, but the Cubs went on a 5-1 run to take a 10-9 lead.  Alcester-Hudson maintained a small lead at 14-13, 16-14, and 18-15.  The Cubs would finish the set with a 7-1 run to win 25-16.
