Straight Set Win for Trojan Volleyball over Madison

The West Central Trojan volleyball team won a straight-set home match over the Madison Bulldogs on Thursday, September 3rd.  West Central won by scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-18.

The Trojans opened the match with a quick 7-1 run.  They maintained that lead throughout the first set.  West Central led by scores of 19-11 and then 22-13 before taking the win 25-17.  The second set was much closer.  Madison started with an early 3-2 lead, but the score was quickly tied at 5-5.  The Trojans went on a 10-5 run to take a 15-10 lead, but the Bulldogs rallied to tie the set 16-16.  Madison kept that momentum going for a little while longer as they took a 19-17 lead.  The Trojans were able to regroup going on a 6-1 run to regain the lead 23-20.  Madison got within a point, 23-22, but West Central held for the 25-23 win.

The Bulldogs started the third set with a 3-2 lead, but that lead didn’t last long.  The Trojans went on a 5-2 run to go ahead 7-3 and they stayed in front the rest of the set.  West Central extended their lead to 11-7, 14-8, and then to 18-11.  The Trojans took the set, and the match, 25-18.
