Trojans Girls Soccer Finishes Tough Portion of Schedule with 1-2-1 Record

The West Central Trojan girls soccer team ran through a tough portion of their schedule September 2nd through September 9th.  The Trojans started the season with a 4-1 record before going 1-2-1 in their last four matches.

West Central hosted the Dakota Valley Panthers on September 2nd.  The Panthers built a 2-0 lead with two goals in the first half.  Each team scored two goals in the second half giving Dakota Valley a 4-2 win.  Two days later West Central hosted the Vermillion Tanagers on September 4th.  The Trojans put eight shots in net to cruise to an 8-1 win.

Again with only one day’s rest, the Trojans traveled to Groton for a match against the Tigers on Saturday, September 6th.  Groton scored the match’s only goal in the first half and held for a 1-0 win.  West Central’s next match was on the road at Dakota Valley on Tuesday, September 9th.  The two teams got locked in a defensive battle, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Trojans are currently 5-3-1 on the season.  West Central will finish the regular season with four straight home matches starting on September 18th against Garretson.
