Late Goal Sends Trojan Girls Soccer to Semifinals

The West Central Trojan girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals after a 1-0 win over the Lennox Orioles in the quarterfinals at home on Tuesday, October 6th.

For almost seventy-eight minutes of the match, the two teams were locked in a scoreless battle.  Neither team was able to get any momentum going on offense as both defenses play strong through the whole match.

The score was 0-0 after the first half of play.  The score remained 0-0 until about 2:20 to play.   Breckyn Meyer stole a pass deep on the Lennox end to take possession.  She fired a pass to a streaking Baylee Poss who then found the back of the next with about 2:11 to play.  That goal was the game winner as West Central held for the win.

The Trojans improve to 11-4 on the season and will play #2 Dakota Valley on Saturday, October 10th.
